October 10th? I'm October ninth! Great month! (I remember being fourteen... it only gets better!)

October 14th! Hoorah for October! 14 was fun. Not as many worries as you have at 16 yet still responsible enough to do things on your own. 14 was a good time.

Thanks Adhamh haha I hope it gets better with age. Wow three people in a row with october birthdays yay! Anyone have favorite holidays? Mine is Halloween since I havent got to look into any pagan holidays at any length yet.

The pagan equivalent of Halloween is Samhain (pronounced sow-en, or sow-in). Actually, Halloween wouldn't even be around if it weren't for Samhain. Sounds familiar... Christmas? Yep, used to be a pagan holiday. The church masked out or absorbed many Pagan celebrations. Jesus was not born on the 25th of December but was more likely born around April in 7 BCE. This was moved to the 6th January (the Eastern Orthodox church still uses that date). Then at the council of Niceae in 325 the western Christian church persuaded Emperor Constantin to move the celebration of the birth of Jesus to the other celebration of the birth of the sun, in Roman times the festival of Mithras, the God of Light, at the winter solstice (which was thought to be 25th December).

Heh, sorry. Got a little off track... Anyway, Samhain might be my favorite... Haven't had a chance to get the full experience of any pagan holiday because, well, there ain't any pagans around here! The time will come, though.

my fave pagan holiday is beltaine. yes for all the reasons you're thinking of. but mostly because one of the groups in my area has a HUGE and i mean HUGE festival (4 days this year!!)where literally hundreds of pagans come ot celelbrate.
it feels like a realy community because we're all there for the same things and all able to celebrate however we please w/o society breathing down our necks

wow Heka the celebration sounds very fun. ^.^ We arent looked highly upon where I live actually more than often people just confuse things. Oh well we just got some druids so maybe things will change worth something. (( hey arent we getting off topic?))[eek]

Gettin' off topic is innevitable, of course. I mean, look at who we are! Just too many things to talk about! Like your quotation for example, essence; that's awesome! I guess we got somethin' in common with the rose thing. Also like your other one - it's a moral more people need to live by.

Thanks Adamh I roses are one of my favorite flowers because I loved helping my mom take care of them. Getting off subject just means all us youngins are cool then haha!
