Where Everyone Is...?
Hello, my name is Ashfire, you can call me Ash. I'm nineteen, one month shy of twenty, and I live in the San Diego county area, in southern California. What area do you live in?
See, I just started practicing a few months ago, although I could feel magick in my soul since I was just a child, and I'm hoping that there are others in my area. I looked through the covens and none of them seem to have anything near where I am. I really want to have a coven to meet for sabbats with... especially before Samhain.
I watched the going-ons of this website for a day or two, but this is my first post. Forgive me if I'm being presumptuous!
In perfect love and perfect trust,
Ashfire

Of course you're not being presumptuous, Ash! Merry meet and welcome to Cauldron Living. I'm Era Venia, new-ish member, sixteen, practicioner of about a year and a half.
Unfortunately, I'm about six thousand miles north-east of you. I'm stuck in a little bergy bit called Thompson in Northern Manitoba ^^;
Welcome, though! I'm sure you'll have fun with us here in Cauldron Living!

Re: Where Everyone Is...?
like yourself ash, i have only been practicing for a few months. i live in south-west washington, and i have yet to find anyone in my area that has the same beliefs as i do. it can be iritating not having anyone to help you, but my mom that lives in pendleton has offered to teach me and i found that to be great news.
i wish you luck in creating a coven before Samhain.

Re: Where Everyone Is...?
It is really frustrating, especially considering how many people in my community would persecute me if they knew about me. I wish that the world had a little more understanding in it. Even my lover has told me before that he strictly forbids me from practicing, and everything I do needs his prior consent (he's a very firmly rooted traditional Christian.).
At least we can all find support here though, right? ^_^

Your lover needs to give his consent before you do something? That sounds like the start of a very bad relationship. The christian part I understand (its the largest religious group in my town by far) and I really understand the persecution by your neighbors. That's why you have us now, though ^.^Ashfire wrote:

Re: Where Everyone Is...?
Well, it's not just the start though. He's my husband... Yeah, I know, 19 and married...
Anyway he is just really worried about me. What he doesn't realize is that I get really depressed when I don't practice. I can even meditate without his permission.
Anyway I'm just really glad that I found this place (Or maybe that it found me?). I'm so happy to know that there are so many supportive people here! ^_^

Kay, for one, hun, as long as you love him and it is legal for you to be married at that age, it don't matter to me.
Have you tried telling him that you get depressed when you can't practice your own religion? And if that doesn't work, ask him how he would feel if somebody suddenly told him he couldn't practice Christianity anymore (ie: no crosses, no crucifixes, no going to church, no saying Grace, etc.)
You'll have us for as long as you want/need us, honey. We're here for you!

I agree with Althaea, on top of that try having him relax and meditate before bed. If it helps have him keep a journal near by and record the instances as best as he can. But, definitely go through a...
