it took me 2 1/2 years to get the guts to tell my perents. its kinda hard to tell and all out christen and a all out cathoic that your son is a witch, but when i told them, they just laughed at me and started critsizing me on my religon. but they came around, after about a year, they finally started to come around. but in that year they treated me like i wasnt there son, it wasnt a good feeling but im just glad they came around...

! my Mom pretends to be supportive but she will do little things that pretty much mean that she is not all that supportive of me. like i'll be smudging (ridding the house of negative energy) and she will begin to pick a fight with me! or if she finds out that I am going to do a spell she will tell me that I need to stop watching Charmed. EEEERRRRRR[evil]!!!!!!

I told my mom last night and it went better than I expected, but not as well as I hoped. She thinks I'm being rebellious and I don't know what I'm getting into and that I'm going to get drawn into some cult or something, but she is allowing me to do some reading and buy books as long as I don't leave them around the house or tell my dad.

i was raised in a christian home from birth and my grandma and all of tham are big time catholics, though my step-mom is a wiccan. i have been studying the craft for a few months and i am somewhat undecided. i was raised as a christian but find to much of the religion flawed. i find "god to be a bit hypocritical a times in the bible, and the religious intolerance of the church is definitly messed up. they are just doing what had been done to them. persecution of the misunderstood. but on the other hand i find that i am drawn more and more to the pagan beliefs. i would like it if you could give me advice and the like. thanks.

I was raised Greek Orthodox and disliked it most of my life. one reason ws because you had to go to a church in order to be heard by God. I thought he could hear you everywhere. Then when I got older I asked my dad what if God was a women instead of a man. Being the Alter boy he once was he flipped on me..

needless to say I am now pagan for 4 years now.. wow its been that long? still no direct path but Im doing all the research I can with school and what not..

Everyone of my friends knows and they are ok with it. We talk and debate which is nice, they want to hear my opinion. My dad still doesnt know even though I have an alter in my room haha he thinks its just a decoration thing. And my extended family is alright with it. They know how my dad can be. Actually my moms side of the family is more than ok since my mother's great grandmother on her fathers side was a Gypsy witch. haha I wonder where I got it from.

also ever since my great great grandmother, every girl in the family has premonision dreams. which is pretty awesome considering I thought I was crazy for a while until all these secrets started coming out. Its made me what to know more! anyways enough about me... later guys!

that sound pretty cool, the part about the premonitions. my grandma would flip if she knew how i felt, but the first thing i learned in life was that you must stand up for what you believe in.

hello again to those that read this topic. my grandparents and uncle found out about my beliefs and suprisingly did not flip out. my grandma makes fun of my beliefs and is always questioning me about this and that if it has to do with paganism, all in all i have found that my grandma can make me very angry. my uncle on the otherhand has said nothing to me about it other than he wants to have a talk with me.

please, keep me in your prayers and wish me luck in my troubles that seem to be looming ever nearer.

I live on my own, and my boyfriend is Pagan so he got me really involved with it several months ago. I've always been interested, but it's so much easier to have someone who's been practicing and studying his whole life right there with me. I've mentioned to my parents that I'm studying it, but nothing else. I'm sure they've figured it out and occasionally my mom has the need to tell me how she hopes I still believe in God and she hopes I haven't turned my back on the church and all this. I usually try to nicely explain why I don't find church enjoyable, and why some people I know of the christian belief system don't make it look too good. In the end I think we agree to disagree. Everytime my dad hears the word Pagan he says something to the effect of, "Isn't that a devil worshipping religion?"

On that note, no one in my family goes to church but my Grandmother. We've always been the "Holiday Methodists" until these last few years. I guess this makes me the black sheep? Then baaaaaa I say! Baaaa! [lol]

I told my mother a couple of years ago, and though she immediately made me go to church with her, and every week after that, she saw that i respected the people, and the beliefs, and eventually let off.. now it's just the occasional broom joke, or the "she's a witch! burn her burn her."

they think i'm all full of it still, trying to convince me that magick is all fake and everything, I've tried giving them books to read, and they have, then outright dismissed the book as stupid fairy tails, to convince teens that they have powers. (This was Wicca for one by scott cunningham by the way)

So, it's become a kind of dismissal.. we just don't talk about it.
