Jessica, you can start right here at CL with our own Article Archive. Look over to the Main Menu located on the top left side of almost any page here on CL and the third item down is Articles. Click on that, and it will take you to a variety of articles posted on numerous topics of interest to the Pagan/Wiccan/New Age communities. And just for the record, the information you provide to him about what Paganism or Witchcraft is and isn't shouldn't be any different whether someone is male or female. The basic definitions and beliefs hold true for everyone unless someone chooses to follow an exclusively female-dominated or exclusively male-dominated tradition or belief.

You can also search for general info on Google, but as a staff writer here, I'm naturally promoting our site first since I think much of the information here is both helpful and informative. A good basic article to start with is Wicca 101: What You Should Know When Someone You Know is a Wiccan or Witch, and is located here: http://www.cauldronliving.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?action=viewnews&id=95

Another one I suggest is Pagan Religions, located here: http://www.cauldronliving.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?action=viewnews&id=245

Hope this helps get you started!

There are many types of pagans. Ranging from new-agers to people like me. I am extremely reconstructionist. If it ain't actual Celtic. I ain't interested.

haha true. well anyway. i gave him one of my books to read. its called the witches craft by raven griamssi and i hope it'll enlighten him a little bit on the religion and its history. he said he does want to be pagan but then he brought up the issue that he has no tools or anything yet and he was wondering if he could use some of mine until he gets his own. i was just wondering if it would be okay to let him touch my tools since we are partners and maybe his and mine energy together in the tools would represent masculine and feminine energies balanced out

Whether or not you share tools is totally up to you and what you're comfortable doing. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Some people won't let others handle their tools and items. Some will let others handle them, but then re-cleanse and consecrate them afterwards. It's a matter of personal choice. Like I said, if you don't have a problem with him using your things, then that's all that matters.

One more thought though, you honestly don't need tools or any items at all to practice. Tools, while helpful and good for focusing and directing energy, are for the most part props that we use to enhance our magick. What matters most is your intent while doing ritual or practicing magickal works. If your intention is strong and direct, you don't need any tools. Likewise, if your intention is unfocused, cloudy or mis-directed, all the tools in the world won't help you.

It can be. But personally, I think visualization skills are key in raising and then directing energy. Meditation certainly helps with training yourself to quiet your thoughts and gain focus and clarity. These all play into the ability of visualization that is needed to raise energy and focus it directly toward your goal.

Again, if you don't mind, I'll direct you back to an article in the CL Article Archive about visualization techniques that you may find helpful: http://www.cauldronliving.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?action=viewnews&id=278
