Not Sure
I have a question about my religious path. I was born and when we went to church, raised to be Pentacostal. I have since coverted to Mormonism (except I cannot get my head around all the Joseph Smith worship). My delimma is that I am drawn to the Goddess. It like a moth to a candle. The guys that I have been serious about romantically ( married one of them ) have been pagan. I always feel guilty about my attraction tot he Goddess (guilt, the Christian gift that keeps giving LOL). There has always been this something that pulls my in the Wiccan direction. I have had people out of the blue wish me "Blessed Be". Am I crazy or . . . (this is my question) have any of you felt this way . . . drawn to one path, but feel guilty about leaving another path. Sorry to drone on and on . . . Thanks

Ive neve had the guilt of leaving another path i was more a guilt of hurting my family or what they would think of me. But i think you should follow your heart your the only one who truely knows what path is for you. Not anyone else! I've heard from christian wiccans, that Im guessing have a mixture of both paths. Like I said do what your heart feels is right.
I hope this helps

Although it does sound kind of like an oxymoron, you could consider the Christian Witch path. I see it as a spiritual blending of your faith in Jesus and your need to have the goddess as part of your life as well. Keep in mind, too, that Christians have historically had goddess figures - mother Mary being number one. There are also many goddesses that go back before the birth of Christ, too, so you could (without guilt) incorporate Mary or one of those goddesses into your worship. If you do feel guilty about leaving your Christian foundation, just try to find a way to have both Jesus and the Goddess in your life...

I can empathise with how you feel, I was brought up as a roman catholic and it took many of my early years on this path to become comfortable and guilt free about following it. Ultimately it takes time, meditation/soulsearching, and research before you can become comfortable with any religeous path. I'm not exactly sure what a christian wiccan is, but a little talked about fact about christianity's Father, Son, and Holy spirit trinity, is that the Holy Spirit is actualy female.
This fits with my views on wichcraft and wicca, that there is a "Great Spirit" an incomprehensible devine force which we try to make sense of by splitting it into two componant parts: Male and Female (light/dark, +/-, etc). These two parts are the archetypal God and Goddess, all other Goddesses and Gods are aspects of these two archetypes.
By getting to know say, the Goddess Venus we get to know a little bit about the aspect of the archetypal Goddess that gives love. When we wish to do magic we invoke deities that are specific to the type of working that we want to do, for example in a love spell we may invoke Venus and Eros, for healing Brigid and Dan Ceicht or Isis and Imhotep, for fertility Frey and Freyr.
We use both the male and female to bring balance and to help tap that unknowable devine for "cojoined they become one truth"
Some christians utilise the saints in a similar manner for healing, love, fertility etc. But many fail to recognise the value of utilising both the male and female aspects and pray to just one.
The famous occultist Dion Fortune once said somthing along the lines of all goddess' are one godess and all gods are one god. Meaning that we could fit any god and goddess into these two archetypes, it would be possible therfore to use Jesus and Mary in order to contact aspects of the devine archetypes. Indeed Mary in particular absorbed many of the older Goddess' titles: star of the sea(stellar maris) and queen of heaven to name two.
I don't know if that helps (or if I've just droned on for to long). But take your time in deciding about your path remember "Rome was'nt built in a day".

I agree with Althaea, on top of that try having him relax and meditate before bed. If it helps have him keep a journal near by and record the instances as best as he can. But, definitely go through a...
