I've quite a few books that I actively add to. I've a personal BoS that started life as a 3 ring binder, but I made a lovely cloth cover for it (embroidered on, herbs sewn into the inside.) But, I've also a BoS on my computer that actually has a lot more info in it. Much of it is unfinished, work in progress stuff, or things that I haven't figured out how I'd like them organized inside my book yet. Then there's my Grimoire which is strictly on computer because a tangible copy wouldn't make much sense to me. It currently has over 400 entries just for herbs, I'm constantly adding to it, so leaving it electronic is really in my favor. It makes it easier to locate specific info, too, as I can just do a internal search and immediately find what I'm looking for. The difference between a Book of Shadows and a Grimoire? For me, my Book of Shadows only contains rituals, magickal lore, words of power, and such. My Grimoire is the recipe book, it has my correspondence lists in it.
But, I've also a Mirror Book and another Book of Shadows that is filled with things that are purely for my work as a Pagan Minister. At this point it's primarily info on Handfastings and Ceremonies (completed, works in progress, and ideas I have for others.) I've hopefully another Handfasting coming up mid October, so I'll be adding another to my Book then.
Oh, and then there's also our Family Book of Shadows, which has mostly Rites of Passage (like our Handfasting Ceremony and the children's Wiccanings/Dedication Ceremonies and their Birth Blessings,) Sabbat/Esbat info and traditions, and menus from past Holiday feasts.
Also, there is no right and wrong when it comes to your Book of Shadows. It is YOUR book: you put in their what matters to you, information that speaks to you, that you'll want to look at again later or keep for reference. The only requirement is that info be Craft related and pertinent to your journey as a witch (if that be your path.) Hence, many people journal within their BoS, but others, like me, do prefer the separate Mirror Book (or Book of Mirrors.)
So, while I'm still rambling on a bit here... let me throw in one more thing about Esbats: they are not just Lunar celebrations. Within a coven, an Esbat is any non-Sabbat gathering of the Coven. So, if everyone meets at the covenstead on January 5 for a members birthday celebration and they discuss coven matters and maybe do a ritual, that counts as an Esbat. But, the term is used primarily, now, as their are more solitaries than coveners, to denote Lunar Rites.
Namaste,

Yes I think you can for sure see with all our replys here that its your book. Unlike Damianna my BOS is all of that just some what broken up in chapters I guess for herbs & so on. But it doesn't make me wrong or Damianna or anyone else for that matter.

I agree with Althaea, on top of that try having him relax and meditate before bed. If it helps have him keep a journal near by and record the instances as best as he can. But, definitely go through a...
