    Default Norse Paganism

Lately I've been drawn to the Norse gods and mythology. I'd like to study more but I don't know where to start. Can anyone help me out?

    Merry Meet Morgaine![smile]
I haven't studied this much but I do know that three of my favorite Gods and one Goddess is Norse Thor,Loki,Odin and Freya. I've used them in the past and will in the future. Wonderful. I'll do some research and maybe I can come up with something for you. Merry Part![smile]

"The Everything Paganism Book" (Selene Silverwind) has a pretty good section on the basics of Asatru, as well as many other pagan paths, although I'm sure you could find a more specific book geared toward the Northern traditions. Also, if you'll check in CL's "Pagan Topsites", there's another website about Asatru and Norse Paganism, called "Kin of the North".

    Hi,

I to follow the northern gods.

The books which helped me the most are..

Helrunar by Jan Fries (norse shamanism)
Buckland's Book of Saxon Witchcraft by Raymond Buckland (Seax Wicca)
Rites of Odin by Ed Fitch (asatru)
Northern mysteries & magick by Freya Aswynn (as a general reference)
The Way of Wyrd by Brian Bates (a fictional work following a young priests journey through heathen shamanism in anglo saxon england)

    Hope this helps

Just a quick tip if you are searching the net for info people following the norse path tend to use the word heathen not pagan..

I think you will enjoy and learn from it. Another of his books that I go back to frequently is Magickal Rites of the Crystal Well. I love it!!
