Default Age Restrictions At Cauldron Living

In a recent discussion the topic of restrictions to posters due to their age had come up. I was wondering how others felt about this.

Do any of you think Ms. Sonya should consider placing age restrictions on certain forums?

Do you think age should not make difference at all?

This is only a topic for discussion and no matter what the majority may say, Cauldron Living is still owned and operated by Sonya and she has the final say. I do know though, that she does troll these forums and is always open to suggestions.

I do feel that at least Some of our topics should be restricted by age.

How could you police it though?

People can just lie about their age...

But in theory I agree that age restrictions should apply

I have been on sites before that when you click on a certain picture or topic you have to agree to being over 18. I am not sure how they prove age though. I know when I signed up for my email and my sons I had to give a CC for age verification. But I don't know how it works.
I do agree though that if we want to get raunchy in a certain thread there should be some sort of age restriction.
However I would hate Â*to loose the younger crowd altogether because this is a good home/forum for them to learn, and have positive role models.

I do not believe it is only an issue of being able to be "raunchy." However, I completely agree that there are certain topics unsuitable for a younger crowd.

I think the issue is more of being able to openly express serious ideas and receive, for the most part, serious responses. It is an issue of mentality and maturity.

Yes some topics may need to be restricted, but again its hard to verify age to easy to lie. BUt as we have seen immaturity comes out quickly[confused]

    MM all,

I've seen on some other message boards that you have to be 13 or over!

Nope, why punish the class because the class clown can't keep his mouth shut?! I have yet had a problem out of the other young ones and none of them seem to bark out against their elders. Just Shadow. No one seems to have to prove theirself more than him.

There was never an age restrictions before so why even bring it up now. What there needs to be is an absolute no tolerance rule and once and for all he needs to be booted from the site. Any time a 13 year old boy tells anyone that he is not a boy he is a MAN and should be allowed to chat in a "flying solo" forum ... well really that sums it all up in a nutshell.

Not once have I ventured to the Younger Members section (I can't even tell you what it's really called) I do remember it simply states below it and asks that us elder members RESPECT their privacy. SO I DO!

If it came down to it though, yes I'd go for the age restrictions, but we sure would loose a lot of little gems because of it.
