Re: The masks we wear....
I am like you Star,I work in a hospital where it would not be to my advantage to be fully myself. Luckily no one is allowed to "preach" their beliefs due to Fed laws so religious practice is not discussed. I have been lucky enough to find another Wiccan at work. She Â*was more open about her beliefs at one time and it became uncomfortable for a while for her. She had to transfer to another department due to negativity, but is doing ok now. Thus is the way of the world.

Yes, I think it's perfectly "okay" to wear different "faces" at different times, as long as all the faces truly belong to me. I think we're all multi-faceted as human beings, with many different aspects and sides to us. Together, they make up the totality of who we are as people.phoenix24 wrote:

As a Gemini, I have many different sides, and there are times when one side is appropriate, and time when it wouldn't be. Realistically, we do this all the time in real life. We perhaps speak/act/behave differently as a parent (or grandparent) around our children then we do with our spouses/partners/significant others. We act differently with a lover than we do with co-workers. All these "faces" are sides of us, and as long as your behavior, thoughts, and actions remain true to your inner core of who you are, I think it's perfectly normal to have and express different sides of our personalities to different people in different situations.

I try to be the 'same' person everywhere. i sometimes feel that you will either like me or not. This is a really thought provoking question. It is things like this that make you take stock of who you really are and what you believe.

i do not put on different "faces" for anyone. i only have one side. i am who i am at all times. sometimes that means that i am the outsider (most of the time, actually), but i'd rather be that than be fake in any way.

If they are really masks, then that kind of implies hiding something or dishonesty. No, I don't think that is ok. If you are just showing different facets of yourself then thats a different story.[ninja]
