Default how much interference of will?

Is a spell to get someone to *talk* to you too much interfering with their free will? Love spells aren't supposed to be worked on a particular individual (without their consent) because it's a violation of their free will.. is talking on the same level? Just wondering.

Here's a question: why not just go up and talk to the person in question instead of shooting off a spell? It might be much more effective.

    wyrdric - technically I guess so. :P

Azra - I was just asking, no need to be snarky. I don't need it personally, I was just thinking about it the other day, because we talk about love spells and how it messes with others' free will and that's not our place.. so I was wondering how far that "rule" went.

Chill out people. I'm not being snarky, I'm asking a legit question. It seems to be a waste of a spell when there is a simpler and more effective solution to the problem.

    I agree Azra.

When I want to get a girl's attention I just stand across from her and lick my eyebrows.

kinnah - i didn't find Azra snarky - but thaz just me

However - since i was the one that sorta set the frivolous tone to the thread - please accept my humble apologies - it was a tad insensitive of me

-- what i am trying to say... "isn't working magic - of any kind - even 'healing' and "protection" (without consent) -- an interference in other's free will?
AND - if you really, really must do this sort of magic for this - wouldn't it be wiser to to do the sort that attracts someone (not a particular person) into your life who suits you? Still, i think that Azra gave you the best advice.

Anyways - maybe spend some time asking yourself - why you feel you need whatever it is you wish to bring about for yourself, why is it missing in the first place - perhaps there is some lesson you have the opportunity of learning, or a strength you might find in yourself - and you would miss the opportunity for growth if it just magically appeared. What if you succeeded in finding just the right person for you - just before you changed? Then you would find yourself looking for a spell to get the person out of your life - a big mess.. I can not overstate the importance of examining intentions in the Craft - but that's just my opinion

Always remember the Rede..... Do what thou shalt 'an it harm none.
If getting someone to talk magically is harming someone it isn't a good idea. There are spells that kinda "help" karma. Mirror spells are great for reflecting the truth. I have to agree with Wyrdic on your intentions, as well. Be sure it is for the greater good. There are ways to work with the Threefold Law and get you desired results. Be sure that it won't come back and bite you in the bahookey.

Sometimes you got to take obvious routes before resorting to magic. If you are too shy or whatever to talk to someone you can always do a confidence spell on yourself. Magic isn't always about casting spells on someone and all the hocus pocus of the high magician ( although it is great fun). Results are subtle anyways. Hope that helps.
