Re: got an idea
i got one for a t-shirt that has a pagan in robes saying " damn right i'm pissed. you desicrated our holy grounds, stole our holidays, blaspemied our dieties, murdered us almost to extinction, you still murder us and harrass us,tell lies about us, committ every evil known against us,and you call us EVIL.
another one is to have a druid on it with the saying mac o'c,midir, mananna'n,merlin, me.

Re: got an idea
I would think that obnoxious remarks on T-shirts were for the LifeWay Bible Stores. Our ways, and our example as people living without judgement of others, are what makes us beautiful as followers of a different path. Believe me, I know better than some how the christians can beat us down. I come from a hardcore Southern Pentecostal family. But, did the Civil Rights Movement in the South get results from being loud and adamant for their cause? No, they just kept chugging along, and sooner or later, they got results. If we just be patient, peaceful, and smiling, our time of peace will come. Spreading anger and hurting hearts is their way. Peace, nurturing, and healing is ours.

[cry]but I like the T shirts[cry]
Same comment was made (sorda) with what I posted under RWBobs news story that he posted. I believe in laughter and making light in this dark and scary world. I dont think that standing up for your beliefs is spreading hate and I believe that standing up "to those" who want to direct evil to witchcraft (no matter what form of it) is not wrong either. I think that witches have and will continue to take the high road, but, we no longer have to keep quiet.
Just my 2 cents.
With love, light, laughter and proudness of my beliefs,
Oceansedge

Re: got an idea
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound so negative. What I meant was that we, as a proud, though misunderstood, people, have every right to stand up for who we are and what we believe, but historically, our reputation is a little dreary, if you know what I mean. It's only because most people don't understand, and humans naturally fear what they don't understand. I usually like to let people get to know me first, so that they know me as keith, the nice guy that plays guitar all day, instead of just keith, that witchy guy. I think after people know who you really are as far as morals and compassion goes, its harder for them to write you off immediately as something different altogether, so then I become keith, that nice guy that plays guitar, and, interestingly enough, has also dedicated his life to learning the secrets of older paths. In this way, they know me as a real person, not some nameless evil from a fairytale, and may have a more pleasant outlook on our ways in general. I meant no disrespect, only that I think that it's important to be aware of what kind of vibe one that is in our position in the world gives off. I apologize if I sounded rude, and for the record, thought the Druid T-shirt was a cool idea. I might even buy it if my family wouldn't burn me at the stake.

Re: got an idea
I see it like this. If others can where their cross, why can't i where my triquetra? If others can have their Jesus loves you bumper stickers on there cars, Why can't i have my "it's a druid thing" bumper sticker on my van? If others can have their "Real men love Jesus stickers on their cars, why can't i have my "it's pray for not prey on others" bumper sticker on my van? If others can openly say they are christian, why can't i openly say i'm pagan? If others can run around with jesus and christian themes on their shirts, why can't i run around with druids and pagan themes on my shirts? I am NOT gonna hide who and what i am because of hate and misunderstanding. I have a shirt from wicked jester that says" why is there enough religion to incite war, but not enough religion to instill tolerance?". People need to see through the eyes of a child. Adults see fear and hate. A child sees curiosity and wonder. Adults ask why, a child asks why not. Fear and hate are a learned behavior. Curiosity and wonder are instinctive.[confused]

The more you think you can't, the more underground you are forced. & the more you feel victimised, the more you will be.
Just be who you are & if other people have an issue with it, that's their problem
