Jesus Christ's Biggest Mistake!!!
Konnichi Wa to All:
While Working the other day Landscaping, I came up with the following Thought:
I think that Jesus Christ made his Biggest Mistake when I took some Switches and Sticks and Beat Up Some Merchants who were Selling Their Wares in the Local Jewish Temple, driving them out of the Temple while Yelling that the Temple is a Place of Worship and not a Market Place:
"On the Sunday before the Passover, Jesus entered Jerusalem, where he was met by crowds of people who acclaimed him enthusiastically. There (on Monday and Tuesday, according to the synoptists), he drove from the Temple the traders and moneychangers who, by long-established custom, had been allowed to transact business in the outer court (Mark 11:15-19), and he disputed with the chief priests, the scribes"
This is the Act that caused the established Jewish Church to Arrest and later Crucify JC.
The thing is, by doing what he did, JC set down an Example of using Violence in order to enforce what he felt was the way that the Jewish Spiritual Community should conduct themselves.
By setting such an Example, the later Inquisition copied such Example by using Violence in order to Enforce Their Belief Systems as they saw as Correct.
This lead to the Terrible Spanish Inquisitions in which People who where not of the Catholic Religions were Terribly Tortured, Enslaved, and Persecuted.
So by setting such an Example, I feel that The JC set into Motion the Sequence Of Events that lead to some of History's Most Terrible Moments of Cruelty between Mankind unto their Fellow Mankind.

Uncool ~ I may not 'worship' JC in the Christian way, but to equate him to violence is so uncool[frown]

Re: Jesus Christ's Biggest Mistake!!!
KiNo, I was raised Christian (Catholic) and had religion forced down my throat daily. The passage you quoted I have heard about a godzillion times. You make a very good point. I was told this was "rightous anger" and perfectly OK if done in the name of God. You may be correct in the connection between this recorded action of Christ to what man has done in his name. It definately is Â*not his usual way of behavior. Sort of sticks out, doesn't it?

If you wish to be biblically PC, the first violent act committed in the Bible was by Cain, Old Testement. Cain sacrificed his only brother to God and because of this was cast out to walk the Earth for all eternity.
Now, if you would like the second act of violence commited in the name of God, it would be Moses - he parted the Red Sea to get his peeps out of Egypt, and then closed the Red Sea down upon the Egyptian soldiers.
And all of this took place waaaaaaay before Jesus committed 'his biggest mistake'.

I just had a thought of Revelation!
Mother Theresa is Better than Jesus Christ because she always achieved her Aims with nothing but by Peaceable Means!
She Never Used Any Sort Of Violence in the Entire Time that She Lived!
That (to me) shows that Mother Theresa, who is someone that I can confirm as existed, is better than Jesus Christ and just as Good as the Great Budha!

Re: Jesus Christ's Biggest Mistake!!!
Jesus Christ to me was a man that represented God and Man ~ so his human side could get angry and violent ~
I thought that was the purpose of this man named Jesus to show us the human side and god in us ~ thus anger and even violence would be part of the human side.....[confused]
I personally don't give a crap....just did the catholic thing until I was 20 and that is what I was taught in catholic grade school and high school [eek]

Eh! Â*It's best not to get me started on the Bible anyway. Â*[lol]
