Ode to a Spider.....
Inspiration comes from Everywhere... a good friend in NC was bitten (on the bumm) by a spider, and ended up in surgery! Musings follow:
Check your sheets
before you sleep
in case a pest you find.........
or in the night
he 'll come to call
and bite your sweet behind !
.......................................
I cant abide a freekin spider
crawling in my bed!
I will take my little shoe........
and squash his freekin head !
.................................
Your so Soft and warm and Tender....
Who would think me Crass.........
If we Snuggled in the Night.....
and then I bit your Ass???
I mean no harm, you understand;
but I cant change my Raisin'......
I see your Bumm, so soft and Pink.....
and naturally start Grazing.
I only took a Little Bite......
I didn't think you'd miss it!
I am a Bug; its what we do !
Were I a guy,
I'd Kiss it !

I was a bit Light Hearted with that, but its turning into a real problem for my NC friend... even after surgery, they are still fighting a very serious infection in a very tender area. (Personally, I see it as Defacing Art !) Spiders are Nasty, Nasty creatures ! [tongue][bones]

Re: Ode to a Spider.....
LOL...very well written. As for your friend, how uncomfortable and painful sounding. Was it a brown recluse bite?

Re: Ode to a Spider.....
Hmm...I would wonder if the bite has developed several rings around it, each ring a different color. A brown recluse bite spreads out in concentric, infected, rings. Im posting only the url of this image, cause its kinda gross looking, dont click it if you are a bit squeamish. But it shows the rings of yellow, white, red...if that is what s/he has, they need to excise past the biggest ring, or the area will grow and grow. Its kinda a rare bite type, but very hard to treat, and causes a lot of damage.

Re: Ode to a Spider.....
I'm sorry you friend was hurt but spiders are really beneficial. We'd be bitten a lot more by lots of bugs w/out 'em.
If you live amywhere below or above the Arctic zones, you have at least one spider within 10 feet of you, probably lots more. Don't mean to creep you out but it's a fact. We NEED spiders.
The Ode was great though and I wish your friend a speedy recovery in the end.
From a spiritual standpoint, a spider biting you could be considered a sharing of spider medicine, a bit extreme in this case but maybe she wasn't listening.
In your friend's case maybe the spider was saying, "Get off your butt and start creating!" Creativity is spider's special medicine.
Good Fortune with the healing.

I agree with Althaea, on top of that try having him relax and meditate before bed. If it helps have him keep a journal near by and record the instances as best as he can. But, definitely go through a...
