I wrote this while reflecting on the hurricanes. Â*I think that though we feel the pain of loss for our brothers and sisters, we tend to forget that the Great Mother always blesses us even when she takes and many out there have forgotten what beauty really is...

Great Mother

A brave once said, it is beauty I seek
To know Mother Earth’s Majesty, the wind she speaks
To wake to her sunshine upon my face
To slumber in her cool darkness as dreams I chase
I see her beauty in bending tress
In the Eagle that soars upon her warm blowing breeze
I see her face in the ocean so deep
In the lakes I see her and rivers and creeks
I bow to her gracious harvest and fare
So many beasts and foliages she offers to share
I am humbled by her song of hope
As the whippoorwill cries, I embrace every note
I climb her great mountains, I look over her land
I know it is her when I trod though the sand
As I feel her rain upon my skin
Her generous bounty drinks me in
Her wrath though menacing may destroy
We are hers to take to use come what may
For she gives much more then she takes away
Her Majesty the Great Mother who gives without end
Will ever be revered as my Goddess and Friend
