    Wink A Site To SEE!

Saw the weirdest thing this morning. I just got done washing my hair was doin my makeup & was getting my water that was by my window to take my pill & I look out side & saw a huge black bird that looked at first like a vulture. It had its wings spread out just sitting there on the branch. So I yell for everyone to look at it. it sat there for like that for like 15 mins. So finely I went out side I got really close until my dog heard me & started barking. Then the bird pulled its wings in & sat there then flew away. It was so amazing. I was hoping it would have drop a feather but it didn't. I swear it was a crow tho. It didn't have the normal skin head like a vulture. thought I would share heres some pics but there not good caue the sun was so bright with the snow on the ground I couldn't see what I was taken a pic of. < edited my stupid spelling errors.

Vulture's have a lighter head (skin head) with yellow pointed beaks. They have a very wide wingspan of 3 to 5 feet and survive on eating detritus, so they tend to live around humans. They also tend to stay in trees around large highways or roads to eat the roadkill.

A vulture symbolically has several meanings. In Native American philosophy systems you can determine if an animal is either presenting itself as a totem or as a messenger if it does one of two things. If the animal continually presents itself to you on more than one occasion you can consider it as an animal totem. Or if the animal during one encounter shows itself from four different aspects (different viewpoints) that again means it is presenting to you. If the animal only comes to you once it may be offering you a message based on its symbolic value.

In my teachings the Vulture is a powerful transmuter. This is because the vulture eats dead things and can transmute the incredibly high amounts of bacterial poison without getting sick itself. The vulture is also a bird in mythology that lost all it's beautiful plummage trying to save the earth from getting burned up by the sun. It is in the raptor family but does not seek living prey. To many cultures its mythology revolves around death, but as a purification. Feathers could be therefore used in shapeshifting, to dispel evil, to uncharm sacred tools and other types of transitions. In some early American folk beliefs it was a symbol of the spring, that the frosts would soon be leaving and it would be time to plow and sow. Because of the ability of the Vulture to be able to see the hidden thermals it soars on, it was often thought that as an animal totem it would impart the ability to see auras and energy patterns (bioelectric signature) of humans for healing purposes. Excellent sight, smell and flight signals the symbolic raising of the consciousness away from the mundane, soaring to new heights of personal growth, transformation that will take you to new levels of psychic awareness.

My pleasure. A great resource to learn about animals and their significance as a totem or a messenger is "Animal Speak" by Ted Andrews. Unfortunately I believe he passed away this year so his book will become out of print soon.

It looks more like a raven to me.
In Celtic culture ravens are associated with Mabh, seeing ravens were a portent of great change - usually through battle. There is a legend that when the ravens leave the Tower of London; England will fall. In Tlingit culture (and most of the Pacific Northwest Native cultures) the raven brought light into the world and is very much like the coyote of Sioux and Cheyenne culture or Loki in the Norse.

In any case you have had a visit from a powerful totem.
Well I know I miss more than hit

After looking at your photos, it looks like a vulture to me too. It seems too big to be a raven or crow, judging by that second photo.

Not all vultures have the red heads like the Turkey Vulture. Here in Tennessee, there is also the Black Vulture, which at a distance can look like there's feathers on its head. It's about the same size as the Turkey Vulture too.
    It's funnier in Enochian.
