I'm keeping sweet Jewel in my prayers. Love the new photo of her, too.

Aw Moonie, Miss Beautiful is jsut that, beautiful!

We spoke to Dr Duckhouse this morning. He said that although Jewel does not seem to be in any pain and is mentally alright, she has not improved. They cannot figure out what's wrong with her, and of course we cannot keep her paralysed from the waist down. she cannot make it to the litter box nad so messes on herself, and we know how proud cats are and how they hate to be dirty. I can just imagine how ashamed she must feel. Dr Duckhouse is going to try with her a few more days and see if she responds to the steroid meds, but if not it may just be best to put her to sleep.

Please say a prayer of protection for all my other furbabies: Dori, Calico, Lillith, Genie, Chester and Tequila. I cannot bear to contemplate losing yet another of them, after all the heartache of the last few weeks with Calico's babies and Jewel's health, and the tragedies we suffered last year losing Phantom, Shadow, Nell, Patches and Mimi to poisoning. It's been almost too much to bear and now I have three candles lit, and perhaps a fourth to add.

Keeping candles burning honey! I understand what you are going through. We have had many losses, mostly due to coyotes. They seemed to have moved on which is a relief to us. Just know we are here for you honey! I will indeed send protection your way for your other furries

Jewel was euthanized yesterday morning.

She had lost all feeling in her back legs, and therefore lost the use of them. It just wasn't fair to keep her alive any more, for a cat that so loved to run and play and be outside. So she is with Goddess now. Perhaps she and I will meet again in the future. She will never be forgotten.
