Re: Soccer mom with Pagan bumpersticker??
I'm surprised they really notice it. The Triquetra is considered a Trinity Knot by the Christian faith, and just a plain old Celtic Knot by others. It must be the "Charmed" influence. In any event, I think it's interesting that it's noticed.butterfly wrote:
I wear a triquetra daily. The kids think it's pretty, but I find that many of the parents look at me a little too weird for my liking.
Blessed be.

Re: Soccer mom with Pagan bumpersticker??
Maybe it is the "Charmed" thing, but I think that maybe I'm self concious. I'm learning SO much every day and when I go into the world, I have this feeling that I know something that no one else does-IT'S A WONDERFUL FEELING!!!

Re: Soccer mom with Pagan bumpersticker??
"there was actually people who would pull there children away from my daughter."
Although I believe differently now, I'm the daughter of a baptist minister and I, unfortunately, received the same treatment as a child. [frown]
In 4th grade I spent the night with a friend and was told later that "that preachers kid" isn't allowed in our house anymore. Turns out they found out about my dad and didn't want me to "convert" their children. (I've never "converted" anyone to anything -- Don't believe in proselytizing, never did.)
Then, in 8th grade, one of my best friends in choir class told me that her mother forbade her from inviting me over because she didn't like some sermon my dad had preached.
I think it's incredibly sad, but people are just uncomfortable and sometimes MEAN when they don't agree with someone. If they sense or know that something is different about you, they tend to "shield" themselves and their children.
It breaks my heart. [frown]
BTW - Hi, everyone. Newbie here.
Brightest,
Christiana [smile]

Re: Soccer mom with Pagan bumpersticker??
i have had several bumper stickers . but my trouble was not because of those mine came when my children were in public schools. My children's friends all knew our beliefs and i did have to explain things to a couple of parents but the worst was my very out spoken daughter. She was told by a nmiddle school princeable to take off her pentagram. she refused and said she would be happy to if the christian kids were to take off their crosses. I was called to the school they were suspicious already in the office of my being different. I too tlod the princable the same thing and tried to explain to him what it meant (the pentagram) and them as nice as I could, I told him that if he wanted to make an issue of it I be happy to challenge it with media coverage that i was sure would not look good for him. He shut up and she was allowed to wear it. A couple of weeks later same daugher was assigned to write a poem about family and boy did that finish bringing me out of the closet. Nice poem but they got hung out in the hall of the school. After that it was out there.[smile]

Re: Soccer mom with Pagan bumpersticker??
OK - this I have never seen, and it sounds really cute...unless you're as corny as me and thought "fish witch" which almost sounds like sandwich, which started me giggling at my bad pun. I'll have to look for that - I can have some fun putting that on my truck. LOLhoffmanwitch wrote:

Yeah, I never got why people get all uptight about other people's bumper stickers. I mean it's their property, they can let it speak whatever...
Anyway, I don't have a wicca/pagan bumbersticker on my car (just grateful dead). But lots of folks here in Austin do, and even the "rednecks" don't seem to care too much.
(and i know this is hypocritical, but the christian fish irks me. i like the fish with feet response)
I like the fish with a witch hat.

That is probably my favorite of all of them! [wink] I had it on my old Toyota, but sadly, after 13 years, we parted ways. lolAmara wrote:

I agree with Althaea, on top of that try having him relax and meditate before bed. If it helps have him keep a journal near by and record the instances as best as he can. But, definitely go through a...
