Re: Soccer mom with Pagan bumpersticker??
I think ist totly cool that you are willing to put your reglion out in the open. But please be careful sometimes it really isnt safe. I think it is a good idea. Someone will see it and it will spark an intrest and they will learn about the reglion and then thats one less unedusated person we have to worry about calling us "satanists". LOL>[bones]

Re: Soccer mom with Pagan bumpersticker??
I am a preschool teacher in the town in which I live and I wear a triquetra daily. The kids think it's pretty, but I find that many of the parents look at me a little too weird for my liking. Will I take it off? Not a chance. Will I educate if asked? You bet! I'm proud of what I am becoming, the things I am learning and the link in the chain that I have chosen to be. I have three sons and I am beginning to come out of the broom closet so to speak and I really think that they will follow their Mom's lead. Be proud of who you are and what you believe. If closed minded people don't understand, feel for them but stay strong. I'm new to Wicca and I am so blessed to have found a community that is so loving and accepting. My thanks to you all for helping me on my journey. Blessed Be!!

Yeah, I never got why people get all uptight about other people's bumper stickers. I mean it's their property, they can let it speak whatever...
Anyway, I don't have a wicca/pagan bumbersticker on my car (just grateful dead). But lots of folks here in Austin do, and even the "rednecks" don't seem to care too much.
(and i know this is hypocritical, but the christian fish irks me. i like the fish with feet response)
I like the fish with a witch hat.

Re: Soccer mom with Pagan bumpersticker??
I have an issue with publicizing my faith if my kids are going to be picked on or ostracized because of it. My faith is a private matter that I don't need to publicize. I like the idea of the triple moon sticker, as the writer says, those who know know, those who don't don't. I'm not interested in throwing my faith in other folks face nor am I interested in bashing their faith.

Re: Soccer mom with Pagan bumpersticker??
I'm in the UK,so maybe it's diferent from the US,but we have an "Eye of Brigit" hanging from the mirror of our car, various stickers, and laying around inside, smudge sticks, ears of corn, lavender and we always wear pentacles around our necks/in our ears, depends what me and my partner fancy that day, never had a problem with anyone being negative about it.

Re: Soccer mom with Pagan bumpersticker??
I think it's sad that your daughter was treated diffrently, unfortunatly people are ignorant. (I think Lucy Furrr is a riot, btw.) My kids are begining to notice that our holidays aren't covered in discussion in school, and are educating thier classes[oops].
I see find it very irritating when people react as they did toward your child, and more bothersome that we have to consider reaction as well as safety when we display pride/humor about our path.
I have a bumper sticker that says "I thought about being born again, but my mother refused." and a triple moon on my van. I have gotten a few looks over it, but nothing to awful.

Re: Soccer mom with Pagan bumpersticker??
A triple moon is a sign of the Goddess in her three phases: Maiden, Mother and Crone.
The Maiden is the Waxing moon, and portrayed as a crescent, the mother is the full moon, and the crone is the waning crescent.
I'm second guessing myself, but I'm pretty sure that's it.
