Tristan, celtic, for a boy: means noisey one. Would be easy to live up to that name.[smile]

We named our boys Atticus Skye Romeo and Titus Rayne Alfredo. 4 names each, counting the last name. Why? Well, it started with Atticus, last name starts with an "s" so we inadvertently gave him the initials a-s-s[eek][oops]So, to fix it, we threw in his great-great grandpa's name. Then, with Titus, well, he had to have just as many names! Both the first names are famous and virtuous romans, the first-middle names are naturey (but not, definitions mean something completly different,) and the 2nd middle name is a paternal ancestor.
    Namaste,

I went to one of the baby name websites. I got it from a web search on yahoo. They have searches where you can put in what origin and sex of name that you need. My son was Born May 11th of 2006 and we came up with Brennan Patrick and our last name is Kenny. So it all came together nicely. My husbands family is just 5 generations here in America from Ireland so I wanted to keep with the heritage and plus I love Celtic names. I hope this helps.[smile]

I've always loved the name Aidan. Plus, I've known two or three little boys named Aidan, and they've always been bright, inquisitive, unique, and magickally inclined.

Check out Pheonix MacFarland's The Complete Book of Magical Names. This is not just a Pagan baby name book. Yes it lists Pagan friendly names from virtually every tradition and pantheon you can think of (from Greek and Egyptian to Lord of the Rings and Star Trek), but also the meanings, pronuncition guides, and more. There's fascinating history and magickal lore about names, plus naming, dedication/ initiation, and coming of age rituals, as well as other rites of passage. It's an awesome resource.

Now, a minor caveat before you present little Lugh-Orion-Faunus-Picard-Albus-Frankincense-Osiris-Onyx to the gods and to the world;...

Generally, it is more socially acceptable for girls to have unusual names than boys. Boys get teased about their names a lot more. Now, that doesn't mean they're all relegated to being Michael or Christopher, but you may want to stick with something a little more mainstream, like Aidan, or Brennan, or something of that variety, which you'd be likely to find in a secular baby name tome, and save any unusual monikers you may be drawn to for the middle name. Aidan Oak Smith, for example, or Aidan Pheonix Jones. You get the idea. It's a lot easier for Aidan Pheonix Jones to sign his name Aidan P. Jones, than for Pheonix Jones to legally change his name, should he grow up to dislike it.

I named my son Maximus Rafael. (Maximus came from The Gladiator movie). I have always thought that the name really does have an affect on a persons character and so I choose this name because I loved the personality of the gladiator in that movie and thought "that is what a real man should be like - tough, loyal, etc." (and Russell Crowe looked soooo hot in that gladiator outfit - LOL!). Rafael is my grandfathers middle name so I gave him that because ever since I was a little girl I liked it and I knew it would make my grandpa really happy (and it actually sounds really nice with Maximus).

My son really did turn out to be a little gladiator - he is one of the toughest bad ass kid I have ever met but at the same time he is so sweet and considerate, oh and gorgeous too!

I don't know any magical names, but if we had had a boy we wanted to name him Alexander Blaize, with the nickname of Zander.

But I also like Ian, Vladimir (Vlad) but they are sort of odd names for people not Irish or Russian. I also like James and Jack.
