Default Re: has anyone with a baby/toddler experienced thi

I don't have a poop story (lucky for me none of my 4 children ever did that), but I do have a story about doctors being wrong with hteir diagnosis'. When my son was 4 years old he was kicked in his leg by a friend of his. He was in a lot of pain (obviously), but the pain lasted longer than normal. Because of this I took him to his regular doctor and they said everything looked fine and if the pain didn't stop in a week to bring him back in and they would check him again. Well the pain was still there and when we went back to the doctor, he said my son was just tryng to get some extra attention. (Now, I'm sorry, but when your child is waking up at night screaming in pain, something is wrong). So, I said this is bull and I took my son to the hospital. They took some exrays and my son was diagnosed with Legg Calves Perthes Disease (not life threatening). He was referred to Shriners Children Hospital (for crippled children)and has been going there for the past 9 years for checkups. He's doing fine for the most part. I'm not telling you this story to scare you, I just want you to know that doctors don't know everything; in fact alot lot of them know nothing. You will be better off trying to find a different doctor and if you have to go through 2 or 200 differnet doctors to ease your concerns, then do so. I don't care what anybody says, a mom knows when something is wrong with their child. They (most) are the primary care giver and are with their children 24/7. The doctors don't see everything that happens during a normal day and sometimes it's hard to describe exactly the "symptoms" so that they can understand more thoroughly. (I hope that made sense). Sorry this was so long. I'm just trying to give you some support.[smile] Blessings!

I have 3 kids. My 2 yr old ignores me, asks "what", & the big one is "why"....or gives me a dirty look. It don't stop....my 4 & 5 yr old act like they don't hear me. The poop issue...your kids will probably paint the walls & crib w/ it...happened to me w/ all of mine. Just be consistent. When your child is ready for potty training....your child will most likely consistently take off the diaper & go right after that or goes in a "private" spot or is intrested about how the potty works. You'll get threw it. I promise! Your child's dr will keep track of everything and go on from there. Good luck & BB!!

If your son began to talk and suddenly had a change in language developement, then that's a big, flashing sign for autism. Autistic kids don't even realize that there are other people in their world sometimes; so they stop talking to them. If you have a doctor telling you that you are a bad mother, switch. Most of the time parents are your best source of information for a child - they are with them all the time. The mouth thing makes me think of cerebral palsy. Or it could be a simple as a Schatzki (sp?)ring (a narrowing of the esophagus.)But I'm studying for boards and we are supposed to think of everything out there. Do take him to a better doctor when you get a chance. Like Thelma and some others said, better safe than sorry. If it's nothing, then at least your mind can be at ease. Good luck to you!

My son has a to touch his well call it winkie everytime we change diapers and he wants to play with his dirty diapers so we have to be quick to dispose of them in the trash. I believe your son maybe just curious. My husband said he rememberd a time when he was 3 already potty trained and he pooped in the toilet and picked it up and played with it. I think it's just alot of fasination with something new. But if you feel there is a problem I would have test run they won't hurt anything and they may give you some piece of mind. I like to just use my pagan healing but I also use modern medicine because it has come along way it's not 1930 any more and people get treated more properly for mental illness's. I have a great Phychitrist that has helped me quite a bit.
I hope this helps you out a bit.
Peace and Love and give your baby a big hug from me. I love children.
