Default Herbal supplement for estrogen production?

I haven't seen this in another thread but if I missed it, I apologise. I am 37 and had a hysterectomy and one ovary removed about a year ago. Since then I have started growing just a little bit thicker facial hair etc... I don't want to use hormone replacement therapy but I was wondering if anyone knows an herbal supplement that will promote estrogen production naturally?

Herbs are plants, they produce phytoestrogens in different percentages based on the plant. When you are in your mid-thirties you start naturally reducing your estrogen and other female hormones as this is the usual age for the onset of menopause. Menopause takes sometimes two decades to then complete the process of changing hormone levels for the Crone phase.

Women in the peri-menopausal state are recommended to make strawberry plants and rasberry as herbal allies. So I would suggest incorporating more strawberries (fresh) into your diet. Rasberry leaf tea is also another herbal ally for this stage of your life. If you still plan on having children also eat plenty of red clover blossoms. These three herbal allies will strengthen and tonify your womb and female reproductive system. By optimizing the health of the system it may help to smooth the transition to menopause. I also take motherwort tincture for a six week period in the spring time.

Keep in mind however that your female hormones are supposed to drop at this time in your life. When this happens and the male hormone to female hormone ratio changes the male hormones increase secondary gender characteristics such as hair growth. That is natural. Hormone replacement therapy has been linked to causing cancer and should be looked at as a treatment if you are having dramatic problems making this transitiion as it has serious side-effects. While the herbal remedies I have suggested have no such cancer risks and can be taken safely without any contrary indications with medicines.

So start eating a high fiber flake cereal in the morning and put some sliced strawberries in it and switch from coffee to raspberry tea.

    peace,
    JB

I use Emerita cream (wild yam: plant obtained progesterone) to balance out PMS symptoms. It is supposed to be good for menopause as well. Look up the website and read about it. Progesterone is the precursor to estrogen so if you have low progesterone, then estrogen can be low as well. Not only that, but other hormones can be thrown out of balance. Good luck!

Don't forget, too, that Evening Primrose Oil is just good for women, no matter waht stage of life they're at. you can get it is gel caps and jsut take it with your daily vitamin (which you DEFINTIELY should be taking...consider a multi-vitamin formulated specially for women. There are many all natural formulas you can choose from in almost any health store or pharmacy).
