As I battle the kitchen and try to improve my skills, I figured I would ask this question...
What does it feel like to have a child inside you growing? I ask because I will never be able to carry a child. I guess you could say this is one guy who is curious.
it's too difficult to try to describe but once you're (the woman of course) are about 7 or more months pregnant & you can actually see the baby move it looks like some thing out of the movie alien. when my son would move you could see knees or elbows drag across my stomach from the outside.
Currently I'm in the middle of my second trimester. It's weird to discribe but when I first started to suspect I was pregnant it was like I KNEW i was prenant. I couldn't yet feel or see the baby but I could feel, like on a spiritual level, the baby inside me. As the baby has grown now I can feel it moving around and the best way I can describe that it is that it's kind of like gas, just more solid and not painful, unless it hits of kicks an organ then it hurts like a dull-painful ache in your stomach. The only there thing I can add is now almost every time I stand up I have to go to the restroom. Hope this helps I will write more later as things change.[llama-banana]-This thing makes me laugh!!
Well it's wonderful, and sometimes painful. When you first find out, it's a like a wonderul secret that only you and your body know about, it isn't until you start showing that everyone knows, and starts congratulating you, and asking you what you hope the sex is. To me I feel the connection when the baby starts kicking, and I have start having dreams about my baby. My husband and I both had dreams where we knew the sex before the doctor told us, pretty neat huh???
With each of my three children, the feelings were diffrernt. Â*I LOVED being pregnant: the tossing and turning, gentle kicks and twirling rolls. Â*Seeing my belly contorted to an oval shape as opposed to the roundness that most people see. Â*The feeling I most remember is fear. Â*I was SO afraid of what may be (maybe the baby won't be perfect, etc.). Â*I was in labor for 127 hours with my first-one full week. Â*He was delivered 9 weeks early and weighed only 4 lbs. Â*He is my strength, my reason to believe that all is possible if you have faith. Â*He is learning dissabled but if I was asked to do it all again,I would without hesitation. Â*I hope that this helps you understand. Â*The pregnancy is the fun part, now LABOR is another story!!![wink]
All of my pregnancies were very different. One common denominator, though, was AWFUL morning sickness for the first 4 or 5 months. The first time around was exceptionally brutal, as I stayed sick & dehydrated until my 8th month. I swore I'd never get pregant again after that. [lol] (I did 2 more times, though! )
My favorite part was when you could feel the baby moving inside. My 2nd son was really active & I swore he was swinging from my ribs the last couple of months! He's still hell on wheels 9 years later! [grin]
Having a baby growing inside of you is one of the Goddess' greatest gifts. The baby and mommy forge this bond that is just unbelievable. The baby responds to Mommy's voice first, once delivered. It's heard it for 9 months!
Although I'm done having little ones, I still sometimes miss that special time.
I also had bad morning sickness my entire first trimester. But the 13 mirgraines in 3 weeks i get topped the sickness.
Ok new thing with my current pregnancy. (i'm about 20 weeks)I was doing my thing this morning on the computer eating breakfast and noticed my shirt was wet. Confused on how I spilled my breakfast on my shirt and didn't notice that I had, I looked closer at my shirt. Upon inspection I realize that I hadn't spilled my breakfast myself. It seems that i have started lactating! It was weird but nice to know that, that side works. he hee. Sorry MD this has nothing to do with what it feels like to have a baby inside you, but this is a side effect I felt you should know about.
It is an incrediable feeling knowing there is a life inside of you..Also I had a good pregnancy carrying my son..I did well and ate proper foods & took care of my body and read alot...
Just knowing it is great .. I had a hard time with my daughter as I had put on too much weight & was young..Still a lovely thing also to give birth.. If a person takes the time & reads and focuses on a possitive way of being .. it is a great thing ..my son I was more into the pregnancy as I was older and mature* I walked everynight and became the most peaceful I've ever been ~ Blessings
Merry Meet MoonDancer,
The feeling of being with child is like non other. First your excited and feel like a balloon full of helium, floating. Then you get morning sickness, which usually doesn't last long or heartburn, which lasted during all my pregnancies untill a week after birth. Then you gain weight, swell in places that are not nice, your breasts grow (yippie) and you can "feel" life moving. If you have ever had gas in your stomach that is what it feels like. Until the baby grows bigger and stretches. Then its all about doing summersalts (and I could physically see that looking at my swollen tummy). In all, It is a feeling beyond words.
