As I said on my prior post, her profile states she's 45. Before I respond to any post that I feel is a bit out of line, I always refer to someone's profile to try to learn a bit more about them. If someone presents themselves on this forum as an adult, then until it's shown that they aren't, they're pretty much treated as one. If your niece hadn't lied on her profile and had stated her true age, I probably would have simply ignored her post altogether.

If your niece is really only 12, obviously she's not an adult. In all likelihood, she's probably not mature enough to realize how she presented herself and how she upset and insulted some people here on this forum. Maybe the responses she received here will be a lesson for her to learn.

By the way, I noticed that this forum was the ONLY one where I found any of her posts. It doesn't appear that she tried to get involved in any other discussions elsewhere on Cauldron Living unless I missed them. I find that, and the fact that she hasn't yet returned to correct her profile, a bit odd, too.

Because naturally, respectable Wiccans use profanity, endorse violence, pigeonhole and pre-judge groups of people, and can barely spell or utilize correct grammar.

Oh gods above and below, that's rich. I'm glad I logged on in time to see this before Sonya and the crew remove it. I had a long day, and this provided me with some much needed comic relief.
What's even funnier, is that Misguided Michelle has changed her profile, to include not only her true age, but her interests/activities also now proclaim "GAYBASHING". I'd actually kinda like to see a 12 year old get all up in my face. [lol]

P.S., Hey everyone, Michelle is "Single and Looking". Looking for what I can't say I rightly know, since I'm relatively certain no one here at CL would be interested in a bigoted 12 year old. By the way, Michelle, and/or concerned family members, you must be 13 years old or over to legally create profiles and post information about yourself on the Internet.

Well, first off let me report why I have not posted anything. Just this morning when I opened my mail (as I do through out the day everyday) there were about 60 messages from the notification services here at CL. So, as I was going through and sorting them, I noticed some from this thread and I thought, "Hopefully, this time it will be a legitimate question." I finished deleting all the repeats and then I came to this thread to read all the messages.

*Inhale* - *Exhale*...I started reading everyone's post, and I felt so close to each of you for defending our community. Not just as gay and lesbian, friends and family of gays and lesbians, or whatever, I am talking about the untied community here at CL. I also rather thought that maybe this had just been blown out of proportion. I was getting messages from Sonya, saying she was right on top of this matter, which I am very grateful for. Until I started to read the posts further. Since, here posts had been removed I did not know what she was saying. Then I read where some of you had quoted the lashing out she expressed against Thelma (who is straight but she is a big “queen” in my book [wink]) and then to those in the GLBT community. To find out this person was 12 and already expressing this kind of hate, gave me much heartache.

I am glad I missed these posts as I feel I would have probably lashed back and regressed everything I am working towards in my life right now. I thank deity for that. I also thank all of you for sticking up for this community. I started this thread to possibly help others understand the thoughts of one gay man and give, as much as possible, a positive reflection of this community.

It is inevitable to meet such ignorance and hatred from others in this world for any reason. People will find any reason to discriminate against others in order to gain self-confidence. They teach their children to believe in the same manner continuing this cycle. I would only think that in our community which, already receives so much hate, that we would do our best to end this cycle. Yet, we see sects of Paganism that discriminate against others for the same reasons of race, sex, and sexual orientation.

In closing, my heart goes out to this child who is obviously stuck behind a black veil of hate. I hope that one day she will step through into the light of knowledge and understanding.
