Cloth Grocery Bags
Albertsons - A large grocery store here in California has offered cloth grocery bags for sale at .99 each - they are strong and well made and have long handles making carrying things easier.
The store also credits you .03 cents per bag off your bill everytime you use them!
Something to think about and a great way to avoid plastic bags.

Re: Cloth Grocery Bags
We have Albertsons here too, I will have to check that out. They closed the one closest to me, so I haven't been in a while. Now it's either, Publix, or WalMart Supercenter unless I want to go a little futher down the road.
I liked Albertsons, it was kind of like Joe O'Malaya's. (sp?) back in Indy.

Sorry, just kidding. I think it's neat that Albertson's is doing that and it's something everyone can do to help the environment. Unfortunately, they must be doing this in only selected Albertsons around the country because the Albertsons in my small town in northeast Texas isn't selling cloth bags or offering anything but plastic.

Re: Cloth Grocery Bags
Thats wonderful! I think I'm going to buy one of my own to use. In Europe, you have to bring your own bag all of the time. I myself used a back pack, worked wonderfully....[grin]

I noticed that too, Thelma. I was with Adhamh recently in Texas, and I didn't see any clothe bags in his Albertsons. Although, maybe if people tried writing asking for the option, I am sure they might get them in?thelma6954 wrote:
