    Default And the Shaman said.....

Here's a things that make me go hmmmmm,

I thought this was a funny experience to share. I have a mentor called Grandmother TwoWorlds who is a very old nice Native American woman. I have volunteered my services to her to help her put on gatherings, write the copy for all her text in programs, brochures, webpages, etc. as she has a great mind but had limited schooling on the reservation. I feel it is my honor to help her. For years now she has wanted me to stop "dilly-dallying" and teach what I have learned from her and the other elders I get to meet through her, but I am reluctant as I don't feel ready. She says that I am just being fearful and that I should listen to her and stop being such a scaredy cat. One of the elders I have met through her is a shaman woman from Siberia, so a bonafide old shaman from the province that invented the name. She also is very nice and so I was happy to hear from her. We were chatting and I explained to her my predicament with being unemployed and not feeling comfortable about teaching as I don't feel I have enough knowledge and experience to do so and was waiting for some kind of sign/guidance about what I could do with the rest of my life. But that I would do just about anything with respect to saving the planet from joining Greenpeace to becoming a field scientist, but that I also wanted to be there for my children as well and this was causing me a lot of distress. Other than being a scientist and a facilitator at the gathering events the shaman really knows very little about me. The shaman was very quiet and said that she would perform a ceremony and ask her spirit guides what they thought. So I waited to hear back from her, imagining what kind of ceremony it would be and followed her requests regarding dreaming techniques etc. After a few days she got back to me, and said very seriously, "look this kind of puzzles me because I didn't really expect this answer but the spirits said, " I waited with bated breath, "you should start your own catering business". LOL

    cracks me up every time!

Me wonders if the spirit guides might be a bit peckish?

It certainly gives new meaning to "wandering spirits."
