Default Kirlian Photography, Real or Sham?

I was just talking to a friend recently that I went to one of those Kirlian photographer with. She apparently gets these done all the time to monitor her aura. I had never had one done before and so when she said she was going to buy me a picture I was like, "why not". The premise is that they use a special camera which takes almost like polaroids of your aura. I went to this New Age place out in SEdona Arizona with my friend who said that this was a very respectable kind of place. The woman psychic in the shop seemed very nice, thin blonde. She was bugged out by me and kept staring at me strangely. While I was waiting I was looking at all these hundreds of photos of other people who had gotten this picture taken. It's interesting to see how different all the poloroids were. Some people had one single color like red or blue completely surrounding them like a haze. Other people had more like rainbow colors at various chakras. Some people had a white spot near the center of their stomach area and otherwise dark. I asked the psychic why they were so different, especially the man with the white dot in the center of his chest and otherwise dark. She told me that when people were just about to die their aura, their soul, kind of collapses in upon itself and concentrates into that white dot. It reminded me of an orb. A lot of people had greens, yellows, oranges and she told me that they corresponded to different chakras that were blocked or open, etc. My friend got her pic and she had a cloud of diffuse red smoke all around her. I was expecting something similar since we were both gay and young apprentices to magick. When the psychic took my picture she said that I was very indigo, and that she would like to take a second pic for her wall as a result. I was like sure, I don't care, as long as I didn't have to pay for it. Then while I'm waiting for the picture to develop she goes into this big diatribe and I'm like cool, thanks for the info. but she woudln't tell me about my damn pic and it was very strange compared to the others I saw. She brought the second copy out with her and showed some older woman who came out to see me from the back room while I was paying. The younger psychic was whispering to her and the older woman said, "no don't tell her." My friend was like WTF JB with your pic, they are nervous. I'm like, "I dunno it looks different than yours."

In my pic although my other chakra colors are present they are subdued by this overwhelming dark purple color which I learned is indigo. It completely envelopes my head and is intersected by this white wreath that sits around my ears. So instead of being completely one color it is open on top and it looks like my ears are pointed. When my friend saw the picture she turned white as a ghost and told me that I should ask my teacher what it meant since she had never seen an aura pic like that. I was like, "dude it is some kind of trick photography, how else do you explain the pointed ears." hahahahahah

Anyway what do you all think about Kirlian photography? Do you think it measures something real or is it just a hoax? And if it is a hoax how do they alter the poloroid like that when you are standing right there watching them? And why do they alter certain people's more dramatically than others.

definitely a things that make me go hmmm,
    JB

While reading this, I recalled we'd had a previous discussion on this topic a few years ago, so I went looking for it. Found it on the Dreams and Divination Forum: http://www.cauldronliving.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?action=forum&board=divination&op =display&num=2023

Perhaps some of the responses posted there will help you with the answers you seek.

Honestly, JB, I don't know what to tell you. Â*If it's a hoax, then it must be some random thing going on inside the camera. Â*Did you have to put your hand on the little metal box as they took the photo? Â*I've only had it done once, so I don't know if that's the norm or not. Â*

My photo came out overwhelmingly magenta. Â*There was a huge cloud of it over my head down past my shoulders with thin bands of blue and green on either side of my head. Â*There was also a fairly large spot covering both my third eye and crown that wasn't quite white but it wasn't quite yellow either. Â*

In any case, it was an interesting experience. Â*

    Coool!

Thelma, I thought I asked this once before, but it's always good to get different input. DOh! I think I ruminate too much over unanswered questions in my head in my old age. Has some links to Kirlian photography.

    thanks.

Azra, yes my hand and then something else was magnetized, I was thinking either the throne-like chair, or a plate that you stand on. It is something obviously to do with static electricity principles. I was thinking that depending on the type of jewelry you wear when they send electricity through you and out your feet it makes different resonations- thus the different colors. The camera itself would have to be the point of alteration for the colors. It's a very good illusion.

Like I was wearing my Ouroboros medallion, which I think is made of silver as it tarnishes. The medallion was shining very brightly on my throat, concentrating the waves of purple.

Hahahaha magenta is hot pink, how cute, I was expecting a more greenish hue.

Here's the glitch about colors of the aura; there are so many comparisons of what individual colors mean based on whatever cultural religious mythology. But there is something about an indigo and perhaps all those darker colors that scares some witches. My friend who lives in the southwest and is more into a Toltec path told me, "the color of the aura allows nagual's to recognize each other, and therefore was the way to separate out those for training on this path." A nagual is like a witch for the Mesoamerican tribes, and is what people sometimes call shamans. Carlos Castaneda books go into this extensively.

I don't know the differences though from person to person, seems very radical. If everyone has a uniform bioelectric field it should be more consistently similar.

A woman who was a minister for example; had a very strange aura as well. That is when I thought it was a hoax because hers looked like bars of light with a square symbol on top: almost going around her head like an electron around an atom around the crown of her head.

Another man had swirling darker colors that looked truly demonic to me in terms of the muddy ugly colors compared to more rainbow and pastel pallets in other human's auras.

things that make me go hmmmm,

    Jayne,
Kirlian Photography is based on how a body's electromagnetic field shapes and colors an applied medium voltage static (direct current) voltage field. In essence your own emf or aura will cause changes in shape of a static field and also impart a frequency of specific wavelengths (some in the visual range) to that static field.

Now the earth has an emf field of its own which will interact with your own causing the aura which people are sensitive to. Ever known someone was just totally good or bad just by them walking by you? Your aura, their aura and the earth's were interacting and you picked up on that interaction. How your own aura is shaped and colored depends on your emotional state, thoughts, health, the jewelry you where (with their own energies) the people around you, and the place on the earth you happen to be. Your health and jewelry will tend to shape the field, while emotions and thoughts since they are always changing, will add a frequency component (color) to the field (My Electrical Engineering Professors would have a tizzy fit if they knew I was applying field theory to Kirlian Photography.[lol])

It takes a person of purpose and static health to maintain the same aura at all times and such people tend to be those who are drawn to be shaman, priest or priestess.

A question for you since you describe an interesting aura for yourself. I believe you have said you tend to the Native American views of the cosmos, but do you ever "see" any of the Celtic faerie folk when you are dream walking?

    Good info Dragon.

Yes fairies, even in 3d, especially when I'm on a vision quest, some elementals too, not quite human but just brief glimpses.

A red-haired Goddess appears in my dreamwalks when I ask for guidance for the most part. I think of her as most looking like Cerridwen (Brigit), although I'm not sure who She is. She often has lots of fairies around her and they take me to her.

A "shaman" for lack of better term said that the reason why my aura is so uniform is do to the spin of my chakras being incredibly fast- so my color always stays indigo for the most part. But I don't really know why, she didn't explain it all to me.

    thanks for your input,
    JB

I had one of these done last year in a "witch store" in Nashville. I Â*was curious but didn't really place much into it at the time. After the picture was taken a reading on the picture by one of the store psychics was given. That was amazing....among the normal interpretations, such as my artistic ability shown by the gold around my head and shoulders, Â*she also showed me an area on my torso "muddied brown" indicating illness, which was true. (I was in Nashville to see about my cancer.) Then she floored me by what she told me next. A second image was on the film. She told me this was a guide. He shows up as a softly glowing white figure in the picture. This is also true for me. The guide in the picture is exactly on the film where he is during my dream work, standing close on my left side. Where his arm is in the picture there is an aura of green denoting healing and it is near the muddied area in my abdoman. I took this as a message from my guide that day, and since then everything has gone well for me medically. Â*So, I for one, do believe there is credibility in these films. Â*

    Yep. Â*Welcome to my paradoxical world. Â*[lol] Â* Â*

Here's the glitch about colors of the aura; there are so many comparisons of what individual colors mean based on whatever cultural religious mythology.
That can be said for a lot of things in the realm of spirituality and occult lore, not just color comparisions.

    Â*
But there is something about an indigo and perhaps all those darker colors that scares some witches.
I don't know what to say about that, unless someone's conditioning was so deeply engrained that it wasn't recognized for what it was and it got passed on in a teaching. Â*Maybe they're just afraid of something they don't understand. Â*[strike]Maybe they're just twits.[/strike]

I don't know the differences though from person to person, seems very radical. Â*If everyone has a uniform bioelectric field it should be more consistently similar.
Question is: Â*does everyone have an uniform field? Â*Is the field of a chronically shy person as big and colorful as an exuberant one? Â*What about a type A personality and someone who practices Zen? Â*

I think we're getting further into 'hmmmm' territory here.

(We interrupt for this burning question: Was it the one over by Bongo Java and Belmont University, off of 21st? Â*Just down the road from Vanderbilt?

We now return you to regular posting.)
