The Wind Didn't Like My Garden.
Had A nice storm move in sunday it was lovely to watch but to much of my surprise it took out a few of my corn & a totmato plant.
I was just happy to see the rest was fine & my one lonely sunflower made it through fine. But I thought I would share. Has anyone had any stories of troubles of the garden????

I had some garden adventures this year, myself, Winora. Remember when I posted about rescuing some ducks. Well there's 8 of them 2 pearl guineas. I had worked on a duck farm for the season and one of the workers talked me into the guineas against my better judgement. They were so cute as babies and they were going to meet the same fate as the ducks. What's a witch to do??? Well, the information I got about them is domectic ducks with the exception of the mallard don't fly. Now, the guineas are a type of pheasant, they fly, like chickens, short distances and apparantly out of the pen. Come feeding time, Speedy (theguinea) is out and making a bunch of guinea noises. The guineas are loud and obnoxious, btw. I feed him and the rest of the crew, but the guinea ate my cucumber that was just barely starting to get fruit and a bunch of flowers on the tomato plant. I think I'm going to rename him Thanksgiving and the other one is going to be Christmas. lol

Every year it seems look something new finds its way to the buffet I call my garden. Last year, I fenced off a small plot to grow some borage since they (who ever they are) seem to really like it. Little by little, the borage started to disappear until I only had three out of the fifteen seedlings left that I had planted. When I came home that evening to find only three remaining, I knew that if I wanted to have some to harvest, I needed to dig up what was left and put them in pots. I figured that I had enough time to fix diner and do it after we ate when it would be a little cooler out. Unfortunately for the borage, all three were gone an hour and a half later. They (yes, they again) had decide to have an evening snack. But for all I know, it could have been their breakfast.
It is usually rabbits or gopher turtles that do the most damage. That is why I thought putting up a fence would do the trick. That is what I get for thinking I guess, lol.
With light and laughter,
