These stupid, ugly, disgusting white bugs keep crawling all around my sweet, beloved, beautiful green Sage plants! Okay, so it's totally cruel to hate any living thing that much but seriously... I just started growing some Sage in a pot and these dumb white coloured crawly bug thingies are in the dirt. How do I get rid of them? I'm not even sure what those things are. All I know is I want them gone, gone, gone! This is the first time I'm growing anything so I'm pretty crazy about that common herb. Oh plus, is killing the bugs the only way to make them go away? I'm kinda bad with anything dead and I'd feel like I murdered it and all. But I'll kill the bugs if I absolutely have to because I love my Sage more than I hate killing bugs.

well, I'll try to take a crack at this. If these pests make webs then they are mites. If they are mites you can spray under each leaf where they hide with just straight water. Try killing them with your fingers. You can use Neem oil on the leaves as well. Lady bugs will eat spider mites.

Try soap. It sufficates them.

try a bit of rubbing alcohol in a spray mist bottle. you will need to re apply about once a week or after a rain.

speaking of bugs.. anyone know how to get rid of Japaneze beetles?? they love my back yard..

Seriously: according to the good folks at Organic (or was it "orgasmic" ?? ) Gardening, there is a Substance in every insect that will kill members of the species. What you need to do, is catch about a 1/2 cup of um, and put them in your Blender. Mix that with a gallon of water, and spray.
