Dreamwalking (Spiritquest Ceremony)
A lot of times when working with magick it seems almost that your subconscious mind takes hold of principles much faster than your daily monotony of existence mindset can or want to. This is especially true if you are a dreamer. Dreamer doesn't have a bad definition in this context, but rather the ability to lucid dream naturally. Lucid dreaming is the ability when sleeping to activate your conscious mind into the unconscious realm of dreams. This magic works if you believe that upon entering this dream realm you are walking in another dimension where anything is possible and only limited by rational mind Newtonian brain farts. In other words everything you can think of will work:you can fly, throw fireballs, talk to angels and demons, visit other worlds and deities. An avatar is the face of the Creator that your mind understands and presents itself to you. So the premise of this magick is that while sleeping you contact Goddess and discuss your most burning questions about life. I call this spell therefore Dreamwalking with the Goddess.
Dreamwalking with the Goddess

You need to set aside some time you can spend in a completely isolated location. If you are disturbed during your rest it won't be as effective. What is the optimum is a location that is outdoors, where 3 streams intersect, or on top of a mountain peak. The convection action of the water and air is agitated at these locations and I think it helps to blow the cobwebs of energy from society that we get bombarded with on a daily basis. It is good to remove this to help facilitate dreamwalking. I also recommend a location that is known for aiding dreaming. Many Native American locations throughout the USA have lore about "places of power", for some reason these locations definitely aid in augmenting dreaming skills. I have gone to a few of these locations and can attest to the change in dreaming strength.
Don't eat or drink very much. This is to help facilitate a complete dreaming cycle that is not interrupted by the necessity to go to the bathroom. It's that simple. You want to get a full 10 hours of rest. This is because of REM cycles and the increase in lucidity and deeper subconscious levels you reach as you sleep longer.
Before you set up camp scrutinize the area carefully and create a large medicine wheel of stones around your sleeping area. I usually set up about a 15 foot area which houses both my tent and small firepit. Face your tent so your head rests in the direction of dreaming- west. At each of the compass points place a different stone for each direction based on the element it corresponds to for you. Offerings to each of the elements should also be made of a crystal and an herb. Then place your symbols of power for each area as well. In other words you make your entire camp circle a giant circle of protection and yourself the altar.
A sample set up would be:
North-earth-chalcedony-sage-turtle shell holder
South-fire-lava rock-tabbaccoo-athame
West-water-abalone-sweetgrass- chalice
East-air-clear quartz-incense- hawk feather
Make the offerings to the directional elements, the indigenous spirits and ask all that love you attend and protect you. Sing power songs, listen to the wind, watch the fire crackle and when tired go to bed. Then you concentrate on what question you want to ask the Goddess when you see her. Go over and over it again and again in your head as you are laying down to sleep. Keep concentrating on the Avatar's image and what question you want to ask. Try and imagine that to get to the Goddess you have to go through a rabbit hole of some kind; for me because I'm a scientist nerd my rabbit hole looks like a time warp wormhole from star trek, but to each person the hole always takes diffferent forms. For example one time I dreamed that is was a stone maze I had to navigate. You will walk down this conduit and you will find the Goddess waiting for you. She will be very direct with you- after all her time is precious LOL. You should focus and ask her the question you have formulated in your mind for her. She will answer you, and sometimes it can be a very verbose answer because there are many factors to the one question you pose her, and many outcomes. Try and focus on as much of her answer as you can, so you can remember it when you awake. Give yourself a trigger symbol to remember the dream. Like for example in my dream of the Goddess she had on this wreath of flowers that sprang out, budded, blossumed and then withered away. So I thought to myself in the dream, when I see a rose blossom I will remember what she said.
Upon awakening write down in your journal what she said to you, as much as you can remember. Then thank all the spirits for attending close your circle, etc. Most people I have done this with usually have a lucid dream within the first or second night. For some people they take a bit longer. But ultimately it should work.
namaste,
JB
