Today Michael Jackson died suddenly after suffering cardiac arrest. Through all the good and bad, he remained a musical legend and a steadfast humanitarian. I will always remember the invaluable contribution he made to music in the last 45 years and his extraordinary humanitarian efforts.
I grew up with his music. My children will do the same.
I, too, am shocked and saddened to hear of his sudden death. We had the TV on reporting the CNN coverage for hours, and I finally had to turn it off because it was just all too much to hear over and over again.
He was a gifted musician and entertainer, and regardless of the accusations against him through the years, I still think he retained his childlike and sweet spirit, even as he outwardly became weirder and weirder in appearance and behaviors. I still picture that cute little boy I first heard when I was growing up, singing, "I'll Be There," "Stop! The Love You Save May Be Your Own," and a few years later,
"Ben," which remains one of my favorite songs.
I pray he is now at peace, and his family are in my thoughts.
I was also extremely shocked to hear the sad news of Micheal Jacksons death.
Even though I am only 22, I have always loved and listened to all of his music. My friends and I often go out on the weekend to the clubs/pubs and his songs are constantly being played.
His songs are probably the sound track to many peoples lives and I believe he will be greatly missed in the music world.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends tonight.
May He Rest In Peace x
I was really upset to hear that he passed on..it is too bad the media can't shut up and let his family have peace! I also feel for his children he leaves behind.[cry]
Michael was a musical genius and has changed the music world forever! Michael was a prodigy before his time!
I looked not at child abuse allegations
but at his music and zest for love and life and innocence!
Michael werever your spirit may be, rest in the peace you so richly deserve, and soar the cosmos!
Blessings to you Michael![wink]
I'm just so sorry that my children will learn about Michael Jackson and will love him in the past tense...he was always a living, breathing, pulsing entitiy for me...he was always so ALIVE...and now for my children, though they will love him, it will be the way I love Abraham Lincoln...as a great man who lived and died and whose contribution lives on, rather than as the man who was constantly changing and pioneering the culture of his time and who was a genius right before our eyes.
I watched much of the pre-Memorial coverage and then the entire Memorial. I cried for 3 hours straight, and now I feel so drained. It's still hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that he's gone. So sad and such a loss!
I know this is a little late. I'm shock as will. I couldn't believe it. He as a big idol 2 me. I never thought i would hear that on the news. Let him rest in peace & come back free & bless us again with his skills his soul carries & let his kids miss their father with out the news & everyone make stories up.
