Re: Pagan music
Have not heard of Alexian, but I do like Within Temptation. My favorite Pagan band is Inkubus Sukkubus.

Re: Pagan music
I haven't heard his music, yet (I don't think!) but met him once at an Ostara Sabbat/Goddess Faire. Really nice guy.Phoenix wrote:

Re: Pagan music
As a fan of extreme metal, the term pagan in this genre (Death/Black Metal)is usually and wrongly taken to always meen Satanic. Wereas some bands do have satanic lyrics the majority dont. The bands i listen to who call themselves pagan sing about true pagan beliefs. I couldnt help when seeing this thread to post my favourite lyrics..
(Dark Song by Primordial)
I am the wind that breathes on the sea
I am the wave, wave on the ocean
I am the ray, the eye of the sun
I am a tomb, cold in darkness
I am star, the tear of the sun
I am a wonder, a wonder in flower
I am the spear as it cries out for blood
The word of great power
I am the depths of a great pool
I am the song of the blackbird
Who but I can cast light upon the meeting of the mountains?
Who but I will cry aloud the changes in the moon?
Who but I can find the place where hides away the sun?
AiliIath Nerenn
From the breeze on the mountain to the lake of deep blue
From the waterfall down to the sea
Never changing or ending on the voice of the wind
Sing the dark song of Erenn to me...
For anyone whe likes metal especially on the heavier side I can strongly recommend the following bands.
Primordial
Waylander
Sabbat (UK not Japanese)
Skyclad
Aes Dana
Finntroll
Cruachan
Eluveitie
Geasa
Heol Telwen
Sabbats second album 'Dreamweaver' is a concept album based on 'Brian Bates'' book 'The way of wyrd' and is fantastic.

Re: Pagan music
My wife is a belly dancer and as a metalhead was suprised to find I really enjoy music from groups like Vas, Solace and Niyaz.
If you're looking for something that has a spiritual feel and you appreciate percussion, you will like the music.
Granted, I can't understand the lyrics, but I do "feel" the music, sometimes deeply.

I agree with Althaea, on top of that try having him relax and meditate before bed. If it helps have him keep a journal near by and record the instances as best as he can. But, definitely go through a...
