It was always in the back of my mind that Steve Irwin just might have been invincible. I grew up with the Crocodile Hunter on TV, one of the few programs I ever watched (nevertheless with a passion,) so I was very saddened to hear that he died of a stingray spine to the heart; he was filming a documentary off the coast of Australia about the deadliest animals in the ocean, and apparently got close enough for a one-on-one demonstration. I'll always remember him, as an environmentalist, a spokesman for our animal friends, a teacher, a role model, an entertainer, a courageous soul, a loving father and husband, and as a friend and inspiration I would never get to meet.
I saw the news online this morning and was shocked. I also thought he might be invincible. He will be missed dearly. Hopefully there are plenty of crocs to wrestle and snakes to chase where he's going. Good Journies Steve.
The Croc Hunter will be sorely missed. He showed the beauty of animals that most humans found ugly and loathsome. I remember him holding one of those large, extremely poisonous Brown Spiders found in Austrailia and saying,
"Isn't she a beaut!". The wildlife of the world has lost a great champion. I vision him with now with Cernunnos, I am sure they will have much to discuss. My sympathy to our Brothers and Sisters from Down Under for losing such a special native son.

Re: Croc Hunter Â* :'(
I had all the respect in the world for that man. His attitude was some of what helped me when I had our exotic sancturary. He was a wonderful man with critters. RIP and sending lots of healing energy to his dear wife and children. Yes Redwoodbob that msn piece is beautiful. The animal community has lost a true wonder.I hope to see you soo in another life Steve!!!!!
