Like everyone else here, I was shocked and saddened by the news this morning of the tragic accident that took his life, and what a vibrant and meaningful life he had!
My thoughts are with his wife and two young children who will now grow up without the physical presence of their dad. His many contributions to the animal community, however, are wonderful legacies he now leaves them.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Terrie, his kids and his parents. I know he died doing what he loved, but it is still a great loss.
I remember when he did a special show on the deserts of Arizona (my home state) and how there were many species he had never seen before. He always conveyed the wonder and exuberance of a small child.
May the Goddess bless his family and especially Bindi Sue and Bob.
My prayers go to his wife and kids. It has to be really hard. I can't believe his gone!! I hope the zoo stays in buisness I know or I think I know that's what he would want!! I hope his wife can get the money to keep it running!! RIP Croc hunter!![cry][frown]
I was quite surprised when I heard about it. Quite sad too. His daughter has quite a man to look up to as a role model, even if he's no longer here on earth.
We're also still in shock. My mother and sister adored his shows. I wasn't crazy about them, but I did know of his work as a conservationist, and I really respected him for that. He was a truly unique person, and personally, I don't know if he would have wanted to go out any other way, even if he didn't plan it happening for quite a few more years yet.
It is really sad that he is gone.I have to say that steve change my way of thinking about wildlife.Nature has lost a great man and a great friend. [frown]
This was sad news for me also.. I love animals and loved his show. My dad always impersonated his "croikey" and "ain't it a beaut haha" and "He almost got me" haha. Very sad to hear of his passing. What an ironic death for him. I heard he is only the second person to ever die in that manner. Sting ray's are usually quite gentle creatures.
My boys and I loved watching him. Â*They always imitate his "criky!". Â*He will be missed. Â*I saw his daughter on the news talking about him - what a lil' beauty she is! Â*Thats the saddest thing I find about this, is the wife and kids he left behind.
[cry]
Blessed Be Steve!
