I started reading again on wednesday - my concentration span has not been sufficient prior to then.
since wednesday I have read Cell by Steven King which was ok - the end is a bit rubbish though - A Spot of Bother by Mark Haddon, which was great & I have just started Falling Angels by Tracy Chevalier, who wrote Girl with a Pearl Earring
I feel like I'm absorbing words after being denied them for so long!
it was just like a million other post-apocalyptic tales - nothing new...
have finished Falling Angels - it was good. I have started The Amber Room by the "international bestselling" who i have never heard of, author Steve Berry
My little brother has good taste in books. [smile] The eighth Pendragon book just came out, and though I haven't read it yet, Night says it's excellent.
Right now I've got my nose stuck in The Maquisarde by Louise Marley It's very good, but I would not reccomend it for younger readers.
I just read a heart-breakingly beautiful book called The Secrets of Jin-Shei by Alma Alexander. Amazing, I ecommend it to all, especially to women who value the different dynamics and unspoken rules of sisterhood in their circle of female friends.
Firedancer, what book are you reading? I am currently in the middle of Broken. I love her work as well! Can't wait for another of hers to come out and I'll snatch it off the shelf (paying of course, lol).
I think I am gonna start the Thelma texts.I found a site that has most of them but not all online,so heck I'll read'em first online, then see if I wanna buy them.
A Seperate Reality Further Conversations with Don Juan by Carlos Castenada. I think this is my fifth time through this one.
Does anyone else reread books a lot? If I love a book I often read it many times. I think I've read The Hobbit the most, at least ten or more times, I know passages by heart. Interview with a Vampire is my second, nine times and I've read all the Vampire Chronicles at least three times. Dune is another one I've read a lot and Dragonriders of Pern, hmm, get the idea I might be a bit weird? LOL
