I know spring has finally come to the Black Hills. Even though the grass started greening up a couple of weeks ago and the willows, birch and aspen are showing the new growth at the branch ends, spring does not officially begin until the Pasque Flowers (wild crocus) bloom. They were in full flower yesterday after one of those spring rain showers that make the air smell fresh and clean with the rebirth of the land. It is sad so many people bypass one of the happiest moments of the year. How can these folks not be able to read the world around them? I can’t imagine being that disconnected from the world around me.

All that aside,

I know we can still have that nasty spring blizzard, but today the flowers are pretty, the air smells good, the grass is green, the crab apples are budding and the birds are singing. Life is good and for the time being, tomorrow can take care of itself.
